Study Scripts — Terms of Use

Effective date: 1 January 2026

Welcome to Study Scripts (“Study Scripts”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Study Scripts mobile application (the “App”). By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility and Account

• You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to use the App.

• The App does not require you to create a separate account with Study Scripts. Purchases and subscriptions are associated with your Apple ID per App Store policies.

2. Subscriptions and In‑App Purchases

• Billing via Apple: Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple using StoreKit. You agree to Apple’s terms, including billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds.

• Auto‑Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged at confirmation of purchase and at renewal.

• Manage Subscription: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

• Pricing and Changes: We may change subscription pricing or offerings prospectively. If we change pricing for your existing plan, you will be notified per Apple’s policies and may cancel before the change takes effect.

• Refunds: Refunds are governed by Apple’s App Store policies. We do not process refunds directly.

3. License and Acceptable Use

• License: Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, non‑sublicensable license to install and use the App on Apple‑branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.

• Prohibited Conduct: You agree not to:

– Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, or create derivative works of the App.

– Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security‑related features or access controls.

– Use the App for unlawful, infringing, or fraudulent purposes.

– Copy, distribute, rent, lease, or sublicense the App or any part of it.

– Use any automated means to access or scrape content from the App.

• Ownership: The App (including text, images, UI, logos, and other materials) is owned by Study Scripts and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. No rights are granted except as expressly stated.

4. Educational Use Only

• Supplementary Resource: By purchasing or using the App and its study materials, you agree that all content provided by Study Scripts (including notes, examples, and other media) is intended as a supplementary learning resource and must not replace course materials or resources provided by your educational institution.

• No Medical Advice: Examples and content in the App are for educational purposes only and are not intended to constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek guidance from qualified professionals and authoritative sources where applicable.

• Accuracy Disclaimer: While we aim for accuracy and reliability, no guarantee is given or implied that the content is complete, current, or error‑free. You are responsible for independently verifying information before relying on it.

5. Copyright and Use Restrictions

• All Rights Reserved: All content within the App — including text, images, designs, layouts, compilations, and other materials — is owned by Study Scripts and/or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. All rights are reserved.

• Personal Use Only: You agree not to reproduce, distribute, share, publicly display, sell, sublicense, or otherwise make available any content from the App, in whole or in part, except for your personal, non‑commercial use as permitted under these Terms.

• No Derivatives or Redistribution: You may not create derivative works from the App’s content, nor may you upload, post, or transmit the content to any public or private repository, website, social platform, or file‑sharing service, without our prior written permission.

• Enforcement: Unauthorized use of the App’s content may violate copyright, trademark, and other laws and may result in civil and/or criminal penalties. We reserve the right to take appropriate action to protect our rights.

6. Third‑Party Services

• App Store and StoreKit: Purchases and subscription management are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms and privacy policies.

• Content Delivery: The App may load remote images or other static content assets over HTTPS from a storage provider or CDN. This does not involve uploading your personal data to our servers.

• Third‑Party Terms: Your use of third‑party services accessed through the App is subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third‑party content or services.

7. Privacy

• Our practices are described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.

• We do not sell your personal data. We do not use third‑party analytics or advertising SDKs.

• Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple; we do not receive your full payment details.

8. Disclaimers

• “As Is” and “As Available”: The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.

• No Guarantee: We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors or harmful components, or that defects will be corrected.

• Your Responsibility: You assume all risk for your use of the App. Verify any information before relying on it.

9. Limitation of Liability

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Study Scripts or its affiliates, licensors, or suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

• Our total liability for any claims arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid (if any) for the subscription period during which the claim arose, or (b) USD $50 (or equivalent in local currency).

• Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in such cases, the above limitations may not apply to you to the extent prohibited by law.

• Mandatory Carve‑Outs: To the fullest extent permitted by law, the limitations and exclusions in these Terms apply. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

10. Indemnification

• You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Study Scripts and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any law or third‑party rights.

11. Termination

• We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law, or for operational/security reasons.

• Upon termination, the license granted to you will end, and you must stop using the App. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g., ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification) will survive termination.

12. App Store Terms; Third‑Party Beneficiary

• You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Study Scripts, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.

• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.

• Apple as Beneficiary: You acknowledge and agree that Apple is a third‑party beneficiary of these Terms with respect to your use of the App on Apple‑branded devices and may enforce these Terms accordingly.

13. Changes to These Terms

• We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective date” above and posting the updated Terms on our website and/or within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

• Governing Law: These Terms and any non‑contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

• Jurisdiction and Venue: You and Study Scripts agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

• Consumer Rights Preservation: Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any non‑waivable rights or remedies you may have under applicable consumer protection laws in your country of residence. These Terms are intended to be applied consistently with those protections and any mandatory venue requirements.

15. Severability; No Waiver

• If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

• Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
